Color Test for Kids
Same idea, no numbers. Your child taps the shape they see hiding in the dots: a circle, square, triangle, or heart.
8 plates · shapes instead of numbers · a screening game, not a diagnosis.
Look at each circle of dots and tap the shape you see hiding inside. Ready?
Some circles won't have a shape for most people, and tapping “I can't see a shape” is a perfectly good answer, not a mistake.
Best on a phone or laptop at full screen brightness. Keyboard: press a number key, or Enter if you can't see one.
For parents
Color vision deficiency is inherited and present from birth, so children often don't realize they see color differently. They simply learn the "wrong" names for some colors. Early screening can help at school, where color-coded materials are common.
- Sit with your child and let them point or tap, with no pressure and no timer race.
- If they consistently miss the shapes but get the easy control plates, it's worth mentioning to your pediatrician or an optometrist.
- This is a friendly first check, not a clinical exam.
